Can we use bleach to bring back the shiny white colour of uPVC windows or doors?

Sounds logical, right? If bleach can whiten our clothes, floors and get rid of the heaviest stains, why not use it to clean uPVC windows or doors?

However, this will not help your situation and may damage the uPVC corpus even more. Never resort to bleach or other similar bleaching pastes and cleaners, as they can even corrode the material from which the windows and doors are made of. In addition, many of the bleaches irritate the skin and cause suffocation.

If using bleach is strictly forbidden, then what should I do?

It’s time to reach for the good old white vinegar! This is not only quite a budget-friendly option but also very easy to use. You can be sure that you are not using harsh chemicals – this solution is completely safe for you and your family. Not to mention it is eco-friendly as well!

You will need:

  • 1 cup of white vinegar
  • Mix it in a bowl together with 4 cups of warm water and stir well
  • Pour the contents into a spray bottle
  • You can now use your homemade uPVC windows “bleaching” product.

All you have to do is spray the yellowed uPVC surface, leave the vinegar and water for about 15 minutes, up to half an hour. No need to rinse it – just remove the residue with a soft dry cloth and enjoy the result!
