Why should you clean your driveway once a week
21st March 2022
The more often you clean it, the less often you will have to clean it
You get the idea, don’t you? If you build a healthy habit of cleaning your driveway at least once a week, or in the worst-case scenario – once a month, the less time you will have to spend cleaning. It’s perfectly normal for your driveway to collect all sorts of dirt – vehicle oil, shoe dirt, grease, and more. Frequent cleaning, even if done only with warm water and detergent, will ensure that your driveway will always look good and you will not have to spend hours scrubbing it.
It will minimize the need to repair your driveway
Repairing a concrete driveway can be quite expensive and, of course, hard to do, especially if you don’t have enough time. If you don’t clean your driveway often, the following things could cause it to crack and get damaged:
Mold and mildew – if you live in a humid area, you know how stubborn mold can be and how difficult it is to get rid of it. Once it starts to grow in the cracks of your driveway, it can easily make its way anywhere. Mold can also be dangerous to health and, of course, terribly unaesthetic.
Weeds – The less attention you pay to your driveway, the better your chances of having unwanted weeds all around. Like mold, they find a place in even the smallest corners and crevices but have the power to turn them into furrows that disrupt the integrity of your driveway.
Frequent cleaning will protect you from permanent stains.
If you leave a stain of oil, paint, or any grease on your driveway for a long time, you undoubtedly risk that stain staying with you forever. Or at least until you make repairs to your driveway. Frequent scrubbing your driveway can save you from such ugly stains and ensure a longer life for your driveway.
Your driveway is the dirtiest place in your home
If you thoroughly clean your house, clothes, and shoes, but do not take the same care of your driveway, then your work is half done. The driveway is the “perfect” breeding ground for germs and bacteria, which you can bring anywhere with you just by stepping outside of your home.
You can get a better price for your property
The driveway is the part of the house that initially attracts the attention of a potential buyer. If you are trying to sell your property, keep in mind that a well-maintained and frequently cleaned driveway can surprisingly weigh the scales in your favour. Take your driveway as a business card for the rest of the house – if it shines and looks in good condition, a potential buyer would be more likely to take a look inside.
The dirty driveway is just not neat
No matter how beautifully you decorated our home, no matter how expensive a car you parked in front – nothing can spoil the view as the cracked and dirty driveway.
With minimal effort and resources, you can keep your driveway in good condition so that there is no need for deep cleaning more than twice a year.
